Trying a forklift simulator at a show: what to expect
A short run in VR, your results on screen, and a trainer to talk it through. Here’s how a Virtual Forklift demonstration works.

A forklift simulator draws people in at a show. A good demonstration takes only a few minutes, but it is built to answer the question trainers actually have: will this help my operators? Here’s what happens when you sit down.
A quick briefing on the controls
Before the headset goes on, a trainer walks you through the steering wheel, pedals and fingertip controls, the same setup your operators would use in training. If you’ve driven a sit-down counterbalance, you’ll settle in quickly. If you haven’t, the briefing gets you moving in a minute or two.
One focused exercise
Instead of a free drive, each demonstration is one task from NEXUS, matched to your experience. NEXUS includes 45 exercises across 7 categories, so the one you try is a small sample of a full program. People waiting can follow along on the screen at the booth.
Your run, replayed and scored
This is the part trainers care about most. When you finish, you see your result against the exercise’s pass/fail thresholds, and session replay lets you watch your own run back: where you hesitated, and where you got it right. In a real program, the same results go into printable reports and Excel exports, and trainers can add notes for each operator.
Questions about your program
Then the conversation turns to how you train. A few questions usually come up:
- Portable or permanent? Fold N Go packs into one 68.5 lb case, sets up in about 10 minutes and fits in the back seat of a sedan. It’s the same unit you see at the booth. Classroom Standard is a permanent station with a forklift-style seat and a rear guard bar.
- Which lifts? NEXUS covers the sit-down counterbalance. NEXUS+ (Q1 2027) adds stand-up counterbalance and stand-up reach with a guided learning path.
- One driver or a group? NEXUS LIVE (Q1 2027) puts an instructor and several drivers in one shared VR warehouse, in the same room or at different sites.
